Ferrari trains to be launched in Italy

Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori (NTV) are planning to become Europe’s first high speed privately owned rail operator following the launch of its Ferrari trains which are scheduled to be fully operational throughout Italy by March of next year.

€1 billion has been invested in the Italo trains and the creation of 2,000 jobs along with the launch of the new high speed rail service. The trains are all bright red, the colour synonymous with the Ferrari brand, and feature sleek exteriors and a number of luxurious onboard features which bear the distinctive mark of the high end automobile manufacturer.

Using the tiered system most commonly associated with airlines whereby three different classes of tickets are available, the bullet Ferrari trains are split into different carriages which all carry a specific level of specification depending upon the price of the ticket.

The high end tickets offer passengers the chance to enjoy tunnel proof wireless Wi-Fi facilities and also the use of a designated Cinema Coach at the rear of each train where movie screenings will take place. Each train has 11 carriages all of which offer Wi-Fi internet connections and also satellite TV.

In addition, each station where the new high speed trains stop will have their own Italo lounges where passengers wait for their trains, and also a separate ticket office.

Price details for the new Ferrari rail service are yet to be confirmed, although the consortium behind the new service say the rates will be competitive.

Ferrari recall their 458 Italia model due to fire hazard

World renowned car manufacturer Ferrari has been forced to recall its new Italia 458 model due a fire hazard issue.

Vehicles made from the end of July 2010 have been taken back to the factory after 5 of these supercars were reported to have burst into flame across the world. One incident was reported in China, another in Switzerland, the USA, and another in Paris where luckily a passer-by was able to dose down the flames with a fire extinguisher before the blaze got out of hand.

In total some 1,248 Ferrari vehicles are being recalled as part of the safety measures. However the owners shouldn’t have to wait too long to get their impressive sports cars back as Ferrari believe they have identified the problem.

The luxury car manufacturer believes the problem has arisen as a result of glue which is used to attach the wheel arch lining. This adhesive is thought to become flammable as a result of the heat which is generated from the exhaust. The fires have typically occurred after the car has been driven at high speeds for a long period of time.

The Ferrari cars, which have a starting price of £170,000, are being recalled so Ferrari can remedy the problem the quickly as possible. Ferrari has announced that those customers whose vehicles caught on fire will be presented with a brand new vehicle.
